I belive it's never too late for a review so here I am...
Wow ! I gotta say there were many great entries for this jam but I really like this approach; the mechanic are simple, yet brillant. The gameplay is really fun and the art elegant, not to forget the incredible music. This feels really polished for a jam game !
Great job to both members
I loved the idea, it's so fun! Art is cute, too.
The third boss difficulty felt unbalanced for me, too. I wish our health was higher or there were health power-ups in that level.
Surprisingly fun, this feels like a concept that could be turned into something way bigger along the lines of G-Dash content. Really enjoyed this quick game and besides the last boss feeling somewhat unbalanced (or I'm just bad), I have no complaints. 9/10 and awesome music to fit along with it.
Thanks! The last boss is tough, but I think it's tough in a good way, and not in an annoying way because it's possible to dodge it consistently. Since it was the last boss, I wanted it to be a proper challenge, and I'm happy with how it turned out.
However, I think the main issue is that the previous bosses were too easy in comparison. I nerfed the second boss last minute because it was perhaps even harder than the last boss, and unlike the last one, the second was harder in an annoying way.
The difficulty jump is very big from the second one to the third one, so that's why it feels unfair.
Perhaps more bosses would make it possible to ease the difficulty curve, but that would be a lot of bosses for only 3 days project, so oh well.
Agreed,
Definitely, felt great to play and I could indeed find a consistent way to dodge etc. So it wasn't unbalanced in that way at all, I think the ramp was indeed just super significant because of the amount of bosses. But for the amount of time you got, even having 3 bosses surprised me, I thought it was just one! Again, great job!
